Cacao Ceremonies

Ceremonial Cacao is a natural plant medicine and superfood. In ceremony, we will be working with Cacao as a teacher plant. The gentle, loving spirit of Cacao invites you to open your heart and come on a journey of connection to understand yourself and others on a deeper level.

These Cacao Ceremonies are complementary with all OHM Expo Admission Ticket Holders*. Limited space available, these Ceremonies are expected to fill. Attendees are asked to arrive no later then 15 minutes prior to the start of Ceremony.

Ceremony 1 - Cacao & Sound: A Journey Into Self

This first ceremony will include working with the cacao, guided meditation, and short sound journey with the gong. You are invited to dive into your subconscious and discover what your higher self has to share with you at this point in your life. Everyone’s reaction and journey is different, as everyone has different lessons to learn and things they need to experience. Please come into ceremony with an open mind and willingness to grow.

Ceremony 2 - Cacao & Connection

This second ceremony will include a guided meditation with the Cacao followed by practices designed to invite out more of your authentic self and learn about your relationship to others - how you can show up more fully, listening skills, empathy, as well as deep and playful ways of connecting. Here you are invited to show up just as you are and discover more along the way.

Everyone’s reaction and journey is different, as everyone has different lessons to learn and things they need to experience. Please come into ceremony with an open mind and willingness to grow.

Our Cacao is sourced from a women’s collective in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. It has been lovingly hand prepared to preserve all the antioxidants, minerals, cocoa butter, and other compounds that make Cacao a highly effective superfood. These compounds work with your body to increase circulation and trigger your brain to release serotonin (the happy hormone) and tryptophan (a stress reducer), giving Cacao its reputation as a “heart opener”. It can also deepen your ability to focus and give you an energy boost.

Contraindications: Anyone with heart issues should be cautious when partaking in Cacao due to the increased circulation. Those taking anti-depressants should be cautious as well, as Cacao can increase serotonin levels and has a natural MAOI. Mixing the two can result in a migraine. It is also recommended that if a woman is pregnant, she take ¼ to ½ the ceremonial amount.
